8 Days of Change

At the start of your Retreat, you’ll learn the renowned Wellspring fitness and weight loss program. You'll receive textbooks, a pedometer, a self-monitoring journal, and a range of outdoor gear as part of this initial phase of the adult retreat. From there, your adventure begins with a variety of activities for fun, inspiration and motivation.  Whether you’re an expert or a novice, guests enjoy activities such as whitewater rafting, surfing, horseback riding, mountain biking, backpacking and navigating ropes courses.

In the evenings, you'll experience a delicious low calorie-density, low-fat dinner, along with a massage table and a professional masseuse. Then you'll retire to your private room.
Every day, you'll work with our staff of fitness trainers, activity specialists and Wellspring Behavioral Coaches (masters- and doctoral-level therapists) who will introduce you to diet and activity changes you can continue at home. You'll also learn the Wellspring culinary program so you can continue preparing many of the same wonderful low-fat, low calorie-density meals when you return home.

The experience concludes with a set of final assessments and a plan for home developed with your Wellspring Behavioral Coach.

After you return home, you'll continue working with your Behavioral Coach for the next three months in an intensive online after-care program.

Success Story from recent Retreat guest:

"Before the Retreat, I didn't feel good and couldn't do a lot of the things I wanted to do to enjoy myself. I felt like eating poorly was something I had earned the right to do.

But with Wellspring Retreats, the approach to weight loss makes sense – is was logical and had reasoning behind it.

There are not any maintenance costs (buy pills, buy food, keep coming back for more training) that are so prevalent in other programs.

The staff and activities made the Retreat FUN and REWARDING.

Although food was one of the question marks for me at the beginning, I learned that healthy foods can be prepared by anyone, can fill you up, and taste GOOD.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy was probably the most important. It was the place where I learned that I was not alone in my doubts and bad habits, AND also not alone in my need to fight to get better.

Not only did I receive the gift of good health from the retreat, but I treasure the friendships I made during our sessions. Outside of having a family, I don't believe I have ever done anything which has had such an impact.

I know living healthy will be a never-ending challenge, but Wellspring has given me the tools and hope to meet the challenge."
